Union Dues
Your union dues are based upon your hourly wage. Local Lodge 463 has set forth in it's Bylaws that Union Member's monthly dues will be 2 times that of their hourly wage. Therefore, your dues structure is based on a percentage, with higher wage earners paying more per month than lower wage earners.
It is also set forth in the Bylaws that the Local 463 Union will maintain affiliations with the Arkansas AFL-CIO, Arkansas State Council of Machinists and Central Arkansas Labor Council. A portion of your monthly dues goes to pay for your membership/affiliation with these organizations.
How it breaks down...
If you are a Pilot, Navigator or Flight Engineer Instructor, you are the highest wage earners in the Local Union. As noted above, you pay 2 times your hourly wage in monthly dues. Below is a graphc representation of the breakdown of where your monthly dues go.

Because your monthly per capita dues to the Grand Lodge ($31.78), District Lodge ($15.89) and associated affiliates (see above) are flat rates per member, the dollar amount left over that the Local Lodge receives into its operating budget varies depending on your job classification. Let's see how that breakdown looks for a Training Coordinator and Libriarian:

As you can see, the dollar amount that the Local Lodge actually receives from lower paying classifications is much less.
So what are the dollars going to these different "pie segments" actually used for? You are encouraged to visit the web sites of each of the organizations and affiliations listed above to discover for yourself. Links to each of them can be found on the RESOURCES tab. Your Local Lodge 463 Treasurer, Layne Johnston, will also be glad to answer any questions you may have about how the Local Lodge 463 funds are spent.
